The Oscill8 Collective was founded in 2017, and is a registed non-profit society listed as the Oscill8 Electronic Performing Arts Society. It is comprised of mainly Alberta-based live electronic musicians and visual artists to promote and encourage the live electronic music and visual arts community. We aim to support, encourage, and inspire new artists, create and participate in tutorials and educational workshops, and enable live music events for local and touring live performing artists.
We believe that creation, education, and participation among Alberta-based artists is important to connect our community, showcase emerging artists, create a positive and welcoming environment that will cultivate new approaches to creative performance.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We recognize the necessity and importance of being aware and recognizing Indigenous presence and land rights in what we do as musicians and artists.
We honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis (AKA Calgary), and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We also acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work, play and create on this land, and those who honour and celebrate this territory.
